Restaurant: Montpeliers

As mentioned in our review of Cafe Grande , the restaurant standard in central Edinburgh is high. Montpeliers was another restaurant that we visited.
The restaurant is excellently presented and decorated in relation to the season that you visit, which is a very nice touch. During Chrismas, the theme was ivy and snowmen for instance.
We visited for breakfast. We would recommend booking earlyish around 9 to ensure you get a good choice of tables and is also when it’s not too busy so you’ll get better waiter service. The breakfast itself is reasonably priced, not too expensive- around £8 for a full English breakfast which isn’t ridiculous.
If you’re with a young family we wouldn’t recommend booking in the late afternoon/evening as can get extremely busy and loud given that it’s also a bar. Overall though we had a good experience there and would recommend it.
